The January of every year always brings in our regular members and many new faces looking to take on the art of public speaking as a New Year resolution. This meeting was special because it’s the first meeting of the new decade. Read on to find out more about what happened in the meeting.
FIRST HALF OF THE MEETING
- Diprenda Mistry led the meeting as the first Toastmaster of the year.
- Jonty inspired our members and guests with time keeping.Edward challenged gave everyone helpful feedback on their use of grammar and how to take this to the next level.
- As Table Topics Master, Olga Galaiko set the theme of the Table Topics questions to ‘Holidays’.
- Marcelo Prado gave the Table Topics speakers helpful feedback. Well done to all the guests that stood up for a table topic! Going into the deep end is the best way to start improving 🙂
- Sarah Bergin introduced the guests attending the meeting.
AFTER THE NETWORKING BREAK
- Munir Jahangir shared gave the first icebreaker of the year – ‘Very much an icebreaker speech’
- Cristelle Delaporte explained how everything is about ‘more than words’.
- Hannah Redgewell emphasized the importance of mentorship with ‘New Year, New Mentor?’
- Stefanos proactively stepped up with a few seconds to spare to talk about how ‘winning is losing’
