What Happened on December 3rd, 2019?

Read about what happened in our City of London Toastmasters meeting on December 3rd 2019.

There was very little chuntering in our last meeting on Tuesday, December 3rd as our members and guests got straight to the point in their speeches. Read on to find out what happened in the meeting.

FIRST HALF OF THE MEETING

  • Caroline Gormley led the meeting as the Toastmaster for the first time and did a great job at leading the meeting!
  • Neha Arora took on the Timekeeper role and also explained the notion of timekeeping in different cultures.
  • Rolf Merchant challenged everyone to use the word of the day ‘Chuntering’.
  • As Table Topics Master, Bhav Ramanathan asked everyone to justify a randomly picked cause. Dipendra Mistry evaluated the 10 Table Topics speakers and gave tips on how to take their impromptu speaking onto the next level.
  • Olga Galaiko introduced the guests attending the meeting.

AFTER THE NETWORKING BREAK

  • Anna Maria Amato completed her first icebreaker speech and told everyone about how she ‘found something special!’.
  • Scott Baker emphasised that experiences are always best shared with his speech ‘The Unexpected Experience’.
  • Jon Lam did some research on mosquitoes and told everyone why they should ‘Be More Mosquito’.
  • Shamim Ahmed told everyone how to be ‘Dressed to Lead’.

WINNERS

  • Congratulations to Jon Lam for winning the Best Speaker for prepared speeches.
  • Congratulations to Jonty Rooke and Christine Harris for winning as the Best Evaluators.
  • Congratulations to Jack for winning as Best Table Topics Speaker.
  • SPECIAL MENTION to Anna Maria for completing her icebreaker speech!
