The torrential rain on July 30th did not put off our Toastmasters’ members and guests as we had yet another great meeting. Here are the highlights of the meeting:
FIRST HALF OF THE MEETING
- Stefanos Antypas stepped up for the first time in the Toastmaster role and the meeting was no doubt filled with laughs throughout as he charmed the audience with his humor.
- Another first time for Jose Edo who did a great first job as the Timekeeper.
- Nelia Ochner put everyone on holiday mode as she took on the Table Topics Master role. The theme was ‘Holidays’.
AFTER THE NETWORKING BREAK
- Jon Lam told us the lessons he learnt from his tiger mum.
- Ga Lok Chung did a clever twist with his speech on ‘Going the extra mile’. Our members and guests sure did learn a new trick or so to use at the office.
- Daniel Klein talked about rethinking “the way we move”. It wasn’t about dance but about driver-less cars. Another twist!
WINNERS
- Congratulations to Jon Lam for winning the Best Speaker for prepared speeches.
- Congratulations to Matilda Hay for winning as Best Evaluator.
- Congratulations to Cinoj (Guest) for winning as Best Table Topics Speaker.
