Another super week at Toastmasters! This meeting was particularly special because we were joined by 7 fabulous guests and we welcomed two new members to our club. Our club simply couldn’t exist without guests joining our meetings to find out if Toastmasters is right for them. Click here to find out how to join our next meeting as a guest.
First up was short, improvised speeches, known as table-topics. Table Topic Veteren Jon Lam was our table topic master, with an innvoate approach to selecting words from a hat, resulting in great table topic questions such as “worst teacher”, “best party”, “last friend”. Congratulations to all of the speakers. Sarah Bergin took the difficult role of evaluating each of the table-topic speaker, and did a super job.
Next, our guests had a chance to introduce themselves, before we moved onto the prepared speeches:
- Charlotte Wiseman gave us an inspiring and motivating speech about “Sustainable Leadership“.
- Yana Danylenko delivered her heartfelt ice-breaker speech about how she carved out a life in London.
- Angus Innes told us the unique, deep and emotional story of “Christo and Jeanne Claude“.
- Jamal Muse gave an incredibly impactful speech about taking “The Path of Most Resistance“
Thank you and congratulations to all of our speakers for delivering such interesting and well-delivered speeches.
Our evaluators delivered descriptive and helpful reviews to help the speakers learn and improve. A big thanks to Bhavan Ramanathan, Sharon Datt, Oana Lazar, and Cristelle Delaporte for taking these important roles and doing a great job!
The last item of the agenda is always to announce the winners. Congratulations to:
Jack Rowson for the best table topic.
Cristelle Delaporte for the best evaluation.
Jamal Muse for the best prepared speech.
Thanks to everyone who attended this week. Our next meeting is 30th March. We hope to see you there!
