City of London Toastmasters – June 19th

We had another great and insightful meeting at the City of London Toastmasters club, where guests were encouraged to step outside of their comfort zone and deliver a range of exciting table topics.

Sarah Bergin was our Toastmaster for the evening and did a fantastic job welcoming guests and creating an environment, where everyone felt included.

After a short networking break, Ga Lok Chung introduced our table topics for the evening ranging from ‘where is the best place to eat’ to ‘how do I stop procrastination’.

Needless to say, our guests did a great job with the table topics and most importantly had some fun!

Once the guests had completed their table topics, our Toastmaster Sarah introduced the prepared speeches for the evening.

First up was Hubert Jarosz who gave a speech titled ‘The Worst Day of my Life’, which took a rather humorous turn. Our second speaker was Meghna Patel, who delivered an awe-inspiring speech titled ‘What Kind of Architect Are You?!’. Following on from this was Rolf Merchant, with a speech titled ‘The reluctant mentee’, which showed his journey as a reluctant mentee and went on to explain the importance of being mentored. Finally, we saw Olga Galaiko deliver a brilliant and inspirational speech titled ‘My Friend Fear’.

After hearing the evaluations of each speech, the winners were announced! These were:

1) Best Table Topics Speaker: Matilda Hay
2) Best Prepared Speech Speaker: Meghna Patel
3) Best Evaluator: Tim Cummins

A special thanks to our guests and members who attended and made this meeting a memorable one.

Please feel free to join us at our next meeting on 02/07/2019.
