Wow. What an evening. St Bodolphs Church was packed to the rafters with 100+ RSVP’s to our first ever open house evening, in addition to many existing members and committee members participating also
We’re still counting the new registrations and continued interest, but needless to say this was a huge boost to the club and for Toastmasters profile in the City of London
Huge thanks to our Cristelle Delaporte (President) and Louise Taylor (VP Membership) for driving our vision around the event, and ensuring we executed flawlessly
The evening went a little something like this …..
- Hospitality and Welcome
- Introduction from our President (Cristelle Delaporte)
- 3 Prepared Speeches (Tim Cummins, Louise Taylor, Sarah Bergin)
- Introduction for 100+ guests (Ga-Lok Chung)
- Networking break with copious amounts of pizza!
- Table Topics Session for 17 participants (Hugh McCarthy)
- Voting and Evaluation (Andrew Twinn)
- To the pub for drinks and further networking
The energy levels were very high on the evening. The large audience of almost 120 people created a great platform for each speaker
The prepared speeches and interactive feedback gave each guest an opportunity to see how a typical meeting runs, and explain what’s available in Pathways
The table topics gave each guest an opportunity to ‘get stuck in’ and explore their abilities in front of the rest of the group
The networking throughout the evening provided a great opportunity for guests and members to discuss the benefits of becoming a Toastmaster
All in all …. a fantastic evening
