It’s time to reflect for all of us on the year that has passed and dream of the one ahead of us. City of London Committee Team is so grateful for all its loyal members and curious guests who have made 2018 a year to remember.
We would like to call out a few milestones and facts which made 2018 extra special:
- City of London Toastmasters (COLT) Club hosted 28 Meetings in 2018
- Raoul & Andrew both won the most club awards with a total 6 awards each (that’s 21% of the year!)
- Sue won the most ‘Best Prepared Speech’ awards with 3 awards
- Andrew won the most ‘Best Table Topic Speech’ awards with 4 awards
- Raoul won the most ‘Best Evaluation Speech’ awards with 4 awards
- COLT Club held 2 competitions
- Ga Lok won ‘Best Club Table Topic Speech’
- Saloomeh won ‘Best Club Humorous Speech’
- Ada won ‘Best Club International Speech’
- Tom won ‘Best Club Evaluation Speech’
- COLT Club saw many members completing certifications!
- Ga Lok was awarded DTM (Distinguished Toastmasters)
- Brad was awarded ALB (Advanced Leader Bronze) & ACB (Advanced Communicator Bronze)
- Shamim was awarded ACB (Advanced Communicator Bronze)
- Tom was awarded CL (Competent Leader)
- Earning their CC (Competent Communicator): Marcelo, Sue, Rachel, Chalotte, Cristelle
- In March 2018, COLT introduced Pathways
- COLT hosted 1 mentoring workshop hosted by Brad
- COLT had their first Speakathon (all speeches meeting on October 30th)
- COLT did their first Awards Celebration meeting at the University of law
- COLT launched their first instagram account and posts
- COLT did our first facebook live story with Brad’s Mentoring program
- COLT won The Smedley Award Twice !
- COLT Earned the Club’s President Distinguished Award with 9 Points!
