November 20th – Cold Meeting, Warm Hearts

The cold weather is setting in but we kept a warm feeling at our last meeting in November.

Dami oversaw proceedings as our Toastmaster and did a fine job of keeping us toasty!

Daniel led the Table Topics, choosing the evening’s subject as what you would do if there was an alien invasion. We are pleased to say that our speakers generally opted for taking a diplomatic approach to the situation. Well done to Tim for winning the prize for best Table Topics speech. Thank you to Andrew for evaluating.

We enjoyed four prepared speeches:

Nicole, delivering her Icebreaker, told us about the big decisions she has made in her life – including a jump across the pond

Hannah, who gave some useful practical advice on how to make a good leaving speech

Rolf, who asked us to consider how to quantify the word “good” on a scale of 1 – 10

Neil, who compared today’s money management to the Wizard of Oz

Cristelle won best evaluator and Rolf won best prepared speech.

Big thanks to Sean for keeping us all to time and to all our guests who all always most welcome.
