Paul opened up the final meeting in his tenure as Club President, for what was a truly Rock n’ Roll year of achievements for the club.
Our Toastmaster this evening was Tom, he has been away for a while due to work and quickly found his feet to lead a tremendous meeting.
Time was monitored by Kylie, who kept us on time throughout the evening.
Hugh was our Table Topics Master, using the theme of politicians in the news as the basis for impromptu speaking for our members and guests.
Leanne was our Topics Evaluator; giving encouragement and insightful feedback to all table topics that had plenty of guests.
Tom introduced our new guests for the evening.
We had 3 great speeches tonight at the start of the second half (their speech evaluators in brackets):
- Brad – “Toastmasters thus far” – a review of his 13 year history at Toastmasters across 3 continents, plus lessons learned from his journey (Tomasz)
- Charlotte – “Neverendum” – A project #6 speech discussing her experiences in the political campaigns, and whether we have reach peak referendum (Swati)
- Ga Lok – “Premature Actions” – An analogy of the EU referendum and going to the gym (Paul)
Congratulations this evening to Graham on his story of falling asleep during the Queen’s speech and should should of spoken about the Ashes who won best Table Topic; Tomasz who was also GE tonight and gave fantastic feedback won best evaluator, Brad on his Toastmasters journey won best speaker.
The results of the new committee elections will be published shortly once ratified.
The next meeting on Tues 5th July, Ga Lok will be delivering his evaluation workshop. Learn how to deliver great feedback in speeches and professionally.
