A happy sunny Tuesday to all of our Toastmasters.
Ga Lok was standing in as President and introduced the idea of empathy being a keep skill that every Toastmaster develops because they experience such a diverse group and a variety of speeches.
Our Toastmaster this evening was Marcelo, he shared many experiences and lessons learned, including his development at Toastmasters that helped him land his successful new career.
Time was monitored by Dimos, who kept us on time throughout the evening.
Rachel was our Table Topics Master, using the theme of holidays as the basis for impromptu speaking for our members and guests.
Leigh was our Topics Evaluator; giving encouragement and insightful feedback to all table topics that had plenty of guests.
Rachel; introduced our new guests for the evening.
We had 2 great speeches tonight at the start of the second half (their speech evaluators in brackets):
- Ada – “Home is where the heart is” – an thoughtful reflection of her journey and adventures, concluding with the true meaning of home (Jack)
- Ga Lok– “A breeze of fresh air” – The history and impact made by designer Patricia Moore (Charlotte).
Congratulations this evening to Jack on his story of an embarrassing moment of dribbling who won best Table Topic; Ada who has started her journey with a wonderful icebreaker this evening.
Next meeting on Tues 21st June and reminded that On Tues 5th July, Ga Lok will be delivering his evaluation workshop. Learn how to deliver great feedback in speeches and professionally. This will be in place of the regular meeting. For more info and register at: http://galok.uk/july2016
