City of London Toastmasters will be meeting in a new venue from the 18th of December. We have a long tradition of meeting in pubs at the club but from the 18th of December 2012, in a slight departure from the norm, our new venue will be in a church.
The church is called St Botolph’s and is on Aldgate High Street; take a look at our location page for directions. On the 18th of December we’ll be meeting in the Aldgate rooms at the church; these are custom built function rooms towards the right of the church entrance. However, in our first meeting in 2013 – on the 15th of January – we’ll be meeting in the main church hall. This is very exciting for us all at the club as the room is perfect for public speaking!
Apart from the venue change, the rest is business as usual; City of London Toastmasters is an open club and we welcome everyone who wants to improve their public speaking; every meeting will still be rammed full of public speaking opportunities, from table topics, through to prepared speeches and evaluations.
For the socialites at the club, don’t worry! the best evaluations at the club are often over a drink in the pub afterwards and we don’t plan on changing this long tradition! After every meeting please join us in a little post meeting analysis across the road at the Hoop & Grapes pub.
Hope to see you all at the inaugural meeting in our new venue on the 18th of December!
